Rob Parker: It's premature to compare Jalen Williams to Scottie Pippen

Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington discuss whether Jalen Williams can become the next Scottie Pippen to SGA's MJ. Kelvin sees the similarities in their styles of basketball and how that's a recipe for a possible dynasty for the Thunder, while Rob brings up how we've compared players to all-time greats in the past and its aged horribly.

Kelvin Washington:

"He's defensive minded. He's team oriented. He doesn't mind that. I know for sure I have the guy that's better to me in front of me. And I'm okay with that. And he comes out and can score. If they're able to stick together for a handful of years, when you get two defensive minded wings who can score like this, we've seen kind of the formula in Jordan and Pippen and LeBron and D Wade, two wings who can lock in together and be dynamic, you can have a successful run of 5-7 years. Long way to go, but physicality wise, attitude wise, and want and will power. I think Jalen Williams has it to do that. And that is what makes this OKC team scary because there's a bunch of stars and talented guys and SGA looks like he's going to be an MVP candidate for five, six, seven years. But when you have that second guy that's locked in and is that good and only getting better and entering into his prime here in a little bit. That's a scary combination."

Rob Parker:

"I just have an issue with them. It's premature. I get it. I always bring up the Devin Booker is Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul is in the top 3 of point guards. That was the real conversation right? Oh he's the next Kobe...really? Seriously? I get it. You want to make comparisons try to throw it out there. Be the first to say it. You know, you gotta be careful with that type of stuff. We know Chris on this radio show that Patrick Mahomes was Jordan-esque. I don't know if he could really after last year's loss or whatever. Do you know what I mean? The first three 3 years, Jordan-esque, numbers matched the winning. Numbers don't match the winning now."
