Equal Pay for Women’s Soccer Hurts the Bottom Line

The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team won a landmark decision and will now be paid the same as their male counterparts. Doug Gottlieb understands why the change was made, but thinks it doesn’t make sense in regards to the bottom line. Simply put, the men generate more revenue so they should be paid more. While the women clearly deserve equal treatment, paying them the same as the men is financially unsound.

Doug Gottlieb: “To say, ‘Hey, this is the right thing to do,’ that’s fine. Just don’t tell me that there’s any sort of business parallel to it. It is the wrong decision with regards to the bottom line."
